Mark is awesome and he is usually spot-on! I hate the fact that Cinco De Mayo is not only celebrated on an American soil, but Mexicans who claim to be American are welcomed and encouraged to wave the Mexican flags and colors. While Americans are treated like yesterday’s garbage and the American flag, offensive any day of the week.
Something has gone terribly wrong when Americans are discouraged to be proud of their nation.
Mark tells it how it is and doesn’t give a damn who’s offended. He’s a breath of fresh air to say the least.
We just got back from a short trip to Dallas (hense the reason your comment wasn’t posted promptly…truly sorry) and on the border between states right next to the Ole Glory is, of course, a Mexican flag. Most of the car lots and businesses in the area are flying Mexican flags without so much as a red, white and blue banner much less an American flag. Truely repulsive!
Look I really don’t have a problem with people being proud of their herritage or even showing it. However I agree with you that when kids are expelled from school for wearing American flag t shirts or colors it should be shouted about from all the rooftops for what it is…racism. The malls we went to all over the Dallas area were full of just about every nationality but Americans. ( All legal I’m sure) I better not hear about immigrants not making enough money. They were all looking at expensive perfumes or Armani suits.
We did this to ourselves on many different levels and we’re going to have to be the ones that stop it.
